The Downfall of the Trans Community
Each day of surgical appointments begets new detransitioners
A new Dutch study has just come out that reveals a bit more of what we thought we knew about children who transition. The most eye-popping summary note for me…
Most people entering Gender Clinic Incorporated are (no surprise) gay and lesbians. This poses an interesting question early-on in a kid’s development: “is my kid trans or simply just gay?”
Consider the progression that most gay people go through into adulthood. It takes two forms. The first one is quite common; ‘early-onset gay’. Some gay kids connect with being gay well before high-school. It’s inescapable and obvious. Even the family dog knows the kid is gay. They might never have had an opposite-sex relationship, and their puberty kicked-in early in their peer group.
The second group is the one common in a lot of Logo and Lifetime! television dramas, the late-sexuality gays; for whom the more gay-specific traits they lacked, made coming-out that much harder.
Now that TRAs have pushed the idea of trans tots into the mainstream, gay kids everywhere with ultra-liberal parents now get a chance to play out a version of the French Revolution in their own households.
My daughter Lara is a tomboy. That means she is trans, right?
Expressive children who are certain to develop into homosexuals have a Gender Guillotine sitting above their heads now. If Progressive Mommy is seized by gender-ideology clap-trap and expresses disappointment that she has a tomboy daughter, she is likely to press her gay child into a lifetime of expensive rancor and resentment by self-diagnosing Lara into gender dysphoria.
It’s the role of a psychiatrist to filter this progression and determine if the symptoms of dysphoria are really there. Given that large-practice plastic surgeons now talk at conferences about psychiatry issues when their day job involves inserting breast implants and hacking off real ones, every medical checkpoint that exists to prevent a new detransitioner from happening has been removed.
New and expanding gender clinics that are eager for lifetime patient billing have sprung up in every city, ready to rubber-stamp the diagnosis on Tomboy Lara that she is indeed a transsexual and certainly not a boring, run-of-the-mill future lesbian. That’s the diagnosis that’s right for the medical billing software, but perhaps not for Lara.
This is how a detransitioner is born.
